About g33ktalk

g33ktalk is an international community of startup software engineers working together to help each other advance their careers.

The Story of g33ktalk

g33ktalk was founded in 2012 by as an effort to expose software engineers to the best technical and career content to help them level up, and feature challenging opportunities from the best tech companies and startups.

Pete is a self-taught engineer who coded through the the first bubble before starting his first tech company in NYC in 2004. He is passionate about building quality software and has built his own engineering teams for his past three ventures. In addition, Pete also acts as a startup consultant helping select CTOs build the best engineering teams possible.

For one of his companies, Pete relocated to the Bay Area and was exposed to the developer culture there that is every engineer’s dream. This experience gave him additional insights into the way the best engineering teams are built and operate – insights he wished he had earlier in his career as a developer.

Through this experience he also realized that many other engineers out there were just like him and were searching for additional career guidance, the best technical content and select career opportunities. This created the initial inspiration for the g33ktalk network, which reaches thousands of engineers worldwide.

What problem does g33ktalk solve?

For developers: we offer free content and educational resources to help them level up their skills, and we introduce them to top startups across our international network in SF, NYC, London, Berlin and Moscow.

For companies: we offer them a revolutionary way to engage with top startup-oriented engineers across the globe.

What We Believe

We believe that , and that the future is bright for highly-skilled software developers and product development experts that have quality training and experience in solving real-world problems.

We believe that top talent is not limited to the Bay Area and we are constantly working to expand startup opportunities for engineers worldwide.

We believe recruiting is evil and outdated, and only individuals that have actually done the job themselves can match other engineers with the best career opportunities specifically suited for them.

We believe software engineers have a right to choose where in the world they want to work, and are working to build an online community and educational infrastructure to distribute the best engineering content to engineers, wherever they happen to be.

We believe there is far more talent out there than most companies have easy access to, and we’re building the g33ktalk platform to scour the globe to find & attract the best engineers.

We believe engineers shouldn’t simply be evaluated by the school they went to or the companies they’ve worked for, but by how well they code and how much they can contribute back to the startup engineering community.
